Foster-Miller has a long-standing working relationship with the U.S. Air Force, dating back to our earliest work in polymers and composites in the 1980s. We invented Z-Fiber®, a product that increases delamination resistance and makes airplane parts lighter and stronger. Air Force funding also helped us invent a way to process liquid crystal polymers (LCPs) and is currently supporting our research on fuel cell membranes, no-VOC paints and ice-retardant coatings.
