Transdermals can be a new delivery system for old drugs. G.D. Searle had developed a silicone matrix delivery system for nitroglycerin and other drugs, and wanted to enter the market rapidly. In just 53 weeks, Foster-Miller designed, procured, built and installed a nitroglycerin transdermal production facility.

In-house expertise applied to this project included:

  • Product packaging and materials.
  • Overall system design.
  •  Mix of custom and semi-custom equipment integrated into a customized system.
  • On-site installation and debug.
  • Performance evaluation.
  • Life cycle testing.
