| Raychem needed large diameter heat shrink sleeves for metropolitan heating transmission pipelines to seal joints in abutting heat insulation covers. The range of diameters was quite large, so we needed to design and build a machine that could precisely cut and bevel the full range of sleeves. Several sleeves of different diameters had to be accommodated simultaneously, and mandrel exchange cycle time had to be minimal. |
