Foster-Miller is building equipment to operate in one of the most hazardous environments imaginable, as part of the U.S. Army's demilitarization program that requires the destruction of chemical agents and munitions. Existing decontamination procedures are time-consuming, labor-intensive, produce low-yielding results and have a high risk of personnel exposure and equipment damage.
Foster-Miller has developed an innovative decontamination delivery system compatible with all aqueous decontamination reagents for chemical and biological decontamination. The ECAD system combines the advantages of aerosols with electrostatic charging to preferentially cover contaminated surfaces and neutralize atmospheric agents. This approach means significantly shorter decontamination times, more effective and efficient coverage, minimal personnel involvement, simplified cleanup and faster re-occupancy of contaminated facilities. Foster-Miller brings over 30 years of experience in the development of aerosol spray and charged spray systems to the challenging problem of chemical and biological decontamination.
