Nanofibrous Membranes

Foster-Miller is a leader in the development and application of polymeric, nanofibrous membranes. Nanofibrous membranes are made up of fine fibers with diameters of the order of a nanometer. The resulting structure is highly breathable, yet provides a good barrier with extremely high surface area.  Applications include tissue engineering, membrane coatings, and chemical/biological defense. Current work is funded by the U.S. Army.
