Pulsatile Pumps for Total Heart Replacement and Ventricular Assist
Developed in collaboration with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health, these fully implantable pulsatile pumps feature the patented MagScrew actuator. This noncontacting device uses magnet arrays to transmit force without the wear associated with conventional mechanisms and with essentially zero loss. Benefits include longer life, lower heat generation, increased reliability, and improved hemolysis for a new generation of permanent implant pumps.
