Food Processing Technology developed for Tastee Caramel Apples

Food Processing Machine, Food Processing Technology

Foster-Miller developed a state-of the-art food processing machine that picks up an apple, inserts a stick, and then applies caramel and nuts in precise amounts and in the right location on the apple. The machine must also be able to interface with automatic loading and packaging machines.

This proprietary machine was designed and built by Foster-Miller in close cooperation with the customer, one of the leading suppliers of caramel-coated apples. A PLC controls all process parameters, resulting in a superior product. Equipment reliability was assured by having the customer's maintenance staff participate in assembly and PLC programming.
